I've made the semi-final cut over at WriteBloody! They have announced their top contenders to become their new authors for 2009, and I'm one of 16 (out of 226 submissions). Yahoo! The next step is to submit my full manuscript. They'll pick something like five or six new authors to publish this year, so the competition is still rough. I mean, take a look at that list! Especially numbers 2, 3, 5, 6, 14 and 16. And number 4!!! These are some of my favorite poets of all time. It's amazing company to be in, and I'm humbled... February 12, 2009: Site News I have added a new section to the site with information on a proposal I'm developing: The Performance Poetry Preservation Project (P4). I'm also slowly finding pictures to add to the various pages, so that the dumpster shot isn't on everything. I'm going for a photo intensive look, and I'll be scouring public domain and creative commons sources for photos. I may also use a few of my own. Once I feel the site is in good shape, I'll start promoting it. February 3, 2009: My poem "Emily's Legacy" is getting some good distribution. It has appeared in the new available volume from Write Bloody Press: The Good Things About America. It was also featured (thanks to my dear friend and muse Cristin O'Keefe Aptowicz, as the 501st episode of my podcast.) In that same vein, I'm pleased to have been able to offer, through special Arrangement with the Allen Ginsberg Trust, the full recording of Howl (for Carl Solomon) as an extended show number 500 on the podcast. Check it out and subscribe! |
